Candace Kita has been actively involved in several humanitarian causes for the past ten years. Her favorite charities include Read Across America, The USO, and The Salvation Army.
Kita is also a women's safety advocate and is deeply involved in women's safety issues. In addition to writing a book, "The Hottie Handbook: A Girl's Guide to Safety", she also hosted over 40 episodes of a safety radio show on LA Talk Radio.
Since 2008, Kita has spoken to groups of women on the issue of personal safety. She has lobbied for more stringent anti-stalking and anti-harassment laws in the state of California. When asked what she hoped to accomplish, she stated, "No one will remember every safety tip I tell them. These are not tenants of the Bible. Rather, I hope women will keep safety in the forefront of their minds. If they remember one, quick safety tip that helps them out of a situation, it is worth it."
